Private Classes are ideal for focused detailed work at your pace whether you are new to Pilates, require rehabilitation post-injury, pre and post natal fitness and core or specific strength training. One on one sessions are highly recommended for getting the most out of your Pilates work outs. Private classes allow for a more hands on guided approach, which addresses your body's changing needs within each class, providing a unique journey towards your goals and we look forward to helping you get there.
Group Classes are small one hour boutique classes, of three to four clients to one principal instructor. This format continues to work clients on an individual program on a full range of equipment in this group setting. Instruction and programming is progressive and challenging with a functional level of autonomy to this approach as clients knowledge and physical ability grows, empowering the individual.
Duet classes are designed to give you and a friend the benefits of working in a semi private setting at a reduced rate. Ideally both clients need to be of a similar level of ability for best results. Exercise selection will still have elements of tailoring and modifications within the workout. So bring a friend or partner along to share the work and the fun.
Our Method and Approach |
Current clients range from Pilates instructors practicing and refining their skills to older clients that do Pilates to maintain their strength, balance and range of movement, keeping them strong and independent. Our expertise can be focused on individual needs from weakness and imbalances in the body to rehabilitation and post natal care. Personally I see Pilates as an investment in your health for the future. Ask yourself how able bodied do you want to be as you age?. Working with Pilates exercises and equipment you will be moving your body through different planes of movement. Holding and stabilizing ideal postures. Stretching and working muscles that maybe under utilised. Increasing your body awareness, promoting heightened levels of concentration and focus. Pilates develops breath control and unity with movement as it is the engine that drives the movement. So by fine tuning the body through the Pilates method we come to a more aligned, harmonious state of being. At one with the mind, body and spirit. What great potential! Pilates (/pɪˈlɑːtɪz/; German: [piˈlaːtəs]) is a physical fitness system developed in the early 20th century by Joseph Pilates. Pilates called his method "Contrology. It is practiced worldwide, and especially in western countries such as Canada, the United States and the United Kingdom. As of 2005, there were 11 million people practicing the discipline regularly and 14,000 instructors in the United States. There is limited evidence to support the use of Pilates to alleviate low back pain, improve strength, and prevent elderly people from falling. It has not been shown to be an effective treatment for any medical condition. |
